"I have an unresolved dispute with them right now over the warranty. I think they did a great job, and I would say that I was completely happy with them up until the end. I still haven't received the warranty that I signed up for, and they keep giving me the runaround when I reach out to them. They did a good job. They were fast, clean, they executed the work properly and even took care of extra things that came up. It's a shame to me, because all that great work they did is at risk of being less important than the impression they're giving with the way they have treated me over the warranty. They keep blowing me off. I have found out that the warranty is established by the people who actually make the roofing materials, and they charge a fee to the roofing company for the warranty. In other words, Westshore Roofing is not willing to pay that fee to initiate the warranty, after really being the ones to push me to sign up for it and by the date they wanted me to. That's the main thing that I'm really just trying to get them to resolve. I signed up for it and still have no proof of a warranty. Another disturbing thing that came up was that they tried to charge me for a second tear-off. Meaning, they had to remove two layers. Well, they didn't tear off two layers of the old roof because there weren't two layers of the shingles. They tried to charge me $900 for that until I pointed it out that there weren't two layers. Usually, the tear-off company has photographs when they come to remove the layers so I told them I was dying to see the photos because I knew there weren't the two layers. To their credit they then resubmitted the bill to me without that $900 charge, but they didn't admit or clarify that there were no extra layers. I mean, I guess that's fine, but what is weird to me is that the warranty fee and that tear-off shingle fee were very similar amounts. I'd hate to think they were trying to overcharge me for one thing to make up for them not being stuck with that initiation fee. Overall, it's a shame to me how this is playing out, because like I said, they did a really good job on the roof. They came highly recommended by my neighbor who is an industrial civil engineer, and he's really picky. So, if he likes them then that's a true recommendation. The job went so well, they wanted to use my house as a reference house for another house they were doing in the area. I liked the quality of their work. I liked the project manager. They corrected a problem that came up within a matter of a day without it delaying their pace. Those guys kept the project on track. It's just this warranty issue that is the problem. They said it would be handled, and then 6 months went by and now we've got the virus to deal with. It's a shame. When I would call the woman in billing, she would act surprised each time and tell me she'd take care of it." -Brian K.
