with Ohad Kahlani of Turbo Garage Door
An important part in the garage door it's the safety sensors. The safety sensors are located on the bottom of the garage door 6 to 12 inches from the ground. It is mounting on the rails. The purpose of these sensors is in a case that a dog, cat or a kid coming down beneath the door when it's on the way down, the door will just jump back up. If your garage door does not want to go down, most likely it's going to be the sensors. If it's a sensor problem, one way to diagnose it is to press and hold on the wall button. The door should go down if it is a sensor issue. If the door is still bouncing back up when you're holding the button, it's not a sensor issue.
