Video: Garage Door Backup Batteries

After all the fires that we suffered over here in Sonoma County, there is a new code about garage doors. Garage doors need to have a backup battery. This is a feature that only in California, it is a code, um, there is no openers without a backup battery allowed to install in California since 2019. The backup battery is on the purpose of emergency only.

In a case of an outage, you're still going to be able to operate your doors for a few times. In a case that we do have an emergency. What's great about the backup battery, in a case that you have an outage, you still will be able to operate your garage door. You will be able just to click the remote control and to take your car out.

You do not need to use the emergency cord and to open it manually. You don't need to do nothing else, just to press the button. It's much more safe and much more easy, especially for older people.
