When you're replacing your roof, reflecting heat is an important piece to consider. There's several ways of reflecting heat. Nowadays you have cool shingles that reflect heat. There's a coating on most manufacturers shingles now that will reflect a percentage of the heat. And they do function and do produce. So I would recommend that. The other thing is ventilation. That's very important. We walked through that in another video of ours. But in addition to that you can do insulation. You can also put on a product called Radiant Barrier which is a foil that reflects heat. So, the basic idea is, if you do a cool shingle, and you do a radiant barrier, and a ridge vent for example, the expectation would be that the heat in the house is cooler than it was before.
