SAN JOSE — Jim Rossi: So, when customers have bedbug problems, we tell them right from the start, please don’t use any chemicals. Please don’t change the area which you’re sleeping at, the person that’s being bit. We want to walk into the environment and identify and see how it is at the time that the problem is occurring. What happens is, most of the time, customers will either move to a different area where they’re sleeping, and now the bedbugs want to travel and follow to find the host. They’re very particular and they want to feed on the same person over and over again.
So, when a person decides to move the area because they’re getting bitten too often, what happens is the bedbugs will then travel, trying to find a new host. So, we recommend that customers that have bedbug problems don’t put any pesticides down, don’t move or change in your behaviors, don’t try to wash anything. Allow us to go there and try to find the evidence of bedbugs, whether it be their shell or their fecal deposits. You can also buy online monitoring devices, whether it be with an active lure inside that will actually allow the, track the bedbugs to that lure. And it can be inspected later to verify that bedbugs are not.
