DUBLIN — Steve Moore: So, today I’d like to share with you a few tips regarding your IAQ. IAQ means indoor air quality. You know, there’s been a lot of concern regarding this lately, especially with the whole COVID-19 pandemic, the fires that we’ve had last year with outdoor air quality. And so with that, you may not know, but the average indoor air quality typically is about 90% more polluted than the outdoor air quality. Now, of course, this would not apply if there has been a fire outside and there’s a lot of smoke outside. But in general, we do know that the indoor air quality can be pretty poor. There can be a lot of VOC, dust, dander, mold, things like that.
So, when considering ways to combat this, we would like you to consider using your heating and cooling system and the ductwork system that you currently have as the best way to combat this in your indoor environment. With some of today’s new technologies, we know that using your furnace fan and ductwork can be very effective in combating the indoor air environment. We know that when you couple a high efficiency air filtration product, like this filter here, in conjunction with a high-efficiency UV system, like the one I’m showing here, you now have a system that will greatly improve the air quality. And don’t forget there’s one other very important thing I’d like you to consider upgrading. And that would be your thermostat. If you can upgrade your thermostat to a programmable fan type of a thermostat, this is going to give you the ability to run the fan without having to run the heating and cooling system. By running the fan just a few hours of the day, these products will be cleaning your air every single day for a couple of hours, three hours, four hours, however you want to program it. So, that’s a very important upgrade that you might want to consider when adding these to your home system.
Lastly, please remember that when you do install these products into your system, they’re going to need yearly maintenance, possibly replacement of a UV bulb and a product like this. So, consider the yearly cost that might be associated with installing these products before you go ahead and make that decision to put it into your system.
