Video: Upgrading Your Kitchen’s Electrical System

Most homeowners know about the National Electric Code, but most homeowners don't know that the National Electric Code is a minimum standard for safety for electricians. When working on kitchens, doing above National Electric Code work in these modern homes is a great idea for working with modern appliances.

Sometimes, when you work with the minimum code, the National Electric Code states that you need two 20 amp... circuits on the kitchen counters. Now I've found that two 20 amp circuits for all the appliances we use these days is usually not sufficient. So I recommend using three to four 20 amp circuits on the kitchen counter, which will help from overloading circuits so that you can use your microwave, your toaster, your coffee maker, whatever appliance you want, all at the same time.

The design of this This is slightly more costly than the minimum code, but it is a much better design of the electrical system. In the long run, this above the code option is going to save you time and money.
