Spray foam has become a very common material to use now in construction, residential, and commercial. There's two types of spray foam. There's the closed cell and the open cell. A lot of customers ask me what's the difference in between them. The closed cell product is a high performance insulator that can be used where moisture is present, where moisture is potentially exposed to.
Closed cell can be used at many applications, outdoor, indoor. The difference in the open cell it's a more softer material. And it can only be used, it can be used in attics, walls, and under floors. More of an air seal application. Here in California, the most commonly used is clothes cell, especially for new homes, for non vented attic, attic floors, non vented under floors.
Anything that is non vented, that's where our, our clothes cell materials is being typically used. If you're considering spray foam insulation, talk to a professional to determine what is best to use for you.
