Video: Planning Your Design Holistically

BERKELEY — Host, Sarah Rutan: If you’re planning on remodeling your home, you’ll want to be sure to design holistically if you’re planning on building in stages. Today, we’re in Berkeley with Diamond Certified Expert Contributor Jason Johnson of Home Healing Renovations, to hear more.

Diamond Certified Expert Contributor, Jason Johnson: Whenever I go out to meet with a client, I figure that I’m in some early phase of a long, expansive remodeling project and that I want to encourage our clients to think about their projects in their homes holistically. And to communicate with me or their contractor about their long range goals. Because as we design the first project, the project that we’re called there to do, there are changes that we can make or ways to incorporate their future goals to be able to make later projects more efficient, more cost effective, and ultimately be able to help them move toward their broader goals, to the long range goals, with lower costs and less impact on their homes by incorporating those earlier on for the project that we are initially called for.
