that the vacuum cleaner doesn't have a
beater bar or this could potentially
scratch your floor next you want to use
a mop or a cleaning kit of some sort to
help pick up loose items with this you
can either spray the floor directly or
spray the mop and thoroughly clean the
floor with it as much as you can dirt is
the number one reason that floors can
deteriorate you want to make sure that
you're using the right products because
certain suppliers have certain cleaning
products one effective urethane cleaning
solution we carry is a Bona hardwood
cleaner it's one of the most effective
ones that we carry on our market and and
certainly available to all of our
consumers please avoid using polishes or
excessive amounts of water as this can
damage the hardwood as well avoid
wearing shoes with high heels or hard
soles on wood floors as these can cause
scratches as well you may place mats or
rugs and high traffic areas to prevent
dirt and debris from being tracked on
the floor we recommend that you clean
your floors bi-weekly by following these
steps you can keep your wood floors

tip on hardwood flooring has to do with
sanding and finishing of all hardwood
floors this can either be a new floor
that has been installed that is raw and
that needs to be sanded and finished or
refinishing existing hardwood floors
that have been sanded and finished in
the past hardwood floors need to be
sanded three times according to National
wood flooring Association specifications
and it starts with a lower grit of
sandpaper and works its way up usually
to about 120 grit once we have sanded
the floors three times we can stain a
floor any color that the customer would
choose as well as use different floor
finishes and there's pros and cons to
all of these products there's oil-based
polyurethane finishes which is kind of
more of the old school way to finish
floors which has kind of an ambering
look to it and the VOC levels are a
little bit high so it's a little bit of
a stinky process takes 24 hours for
those coats to dry before we can apply
other coats whereas water-based finishes
they actually have a low to zero VOC
level which means it's a little bit more
eco-friendly product and we can coat
those multiple times in one day there's
also newer processes that are like
European hard wax oil where we can
pre-treat a floor after it's been sanded
and then a one step process of buffing
in European hard wax oil into that which
creates a bond with the tannins that are
already existing in the wood flooring
general rule of thumb if it's been 10 to
15 years and the floors are starting to
get pretty beat up I think you're about
ready for a refinishing or resurfacing
of your hardwood floor

of beyond that now and they want
something very practical at the same

a lot easier to maintain than wood so we

wood it does look like tile looks like
marble
but also if floor gets damaged for any
reason the luxury vinyl plank and a
luxury vinyl tile can be unclicked from
the perimeter clicked into where the
damage is a couple of planks replaced
clicked back together wall base replaced
and you've got a brand new floor rather
than having to buy a whole new floor and
start all over again this is one of the
main reasons that a lot of people love
this product
we used to do a lot in vinyl sheet in
high traffic area vinyl sheet tears and
you're replacing the whole floor with
luxury vinyl plank you're replacing a
couple of planks and you've got your
whole new floor for another 20 30 years
possibly unless you damage it again and
then you have a few planks left over so
you go through the same process and you
don't have to buy a brand new floor for
the next 20 30 years

best solution uh
for uh
new product on their staircase they
might have carpet now and they're
thinking redoing with hard surface and
so forth there are several good products
that can be used on the staircase but
the main thing I think would be children
and adults that might have to run up and
down the stairs often throughout the day
carpet actually is a softer product to
fall on than the hard surface and hard
surfaces more slippery than carpet
besides the cushion value of the carpet
and expense because it's a lot less
expensive to replace a staircase with
carpeting than it is to do it with any
kind of hard surface so the expense and
the safety Factor are two good reasons
to think about using carpet on the
stairs rather than any other kind of
hard surface those are some serious
concerns that I think people forget
