how do I know if it's time to repair my fence or replace my fence? there's a couple of simple things to always take a look at. The first thing we start off with is looking at the posts. We look at every single post and see are they structurally sound, are they in good shape or are they rotting out? Are they unstable?
And then the second thing we go into is looking at the top rails and the bottom rails, which is called the framing of the fence. The reason we do that is because that's the main foundation of what holds the fence together. And if those things are in poor shape, then it's usually time to replace the fence.
But if you've just got a couple of key areas that might be a little shaky, maybe not so good, then typically a repair should suffice.
