Diamond Certified Experts: Crucial Details for Concrete Installation

Video: Crucial Details for Concrete Installation

Alex Ramirez: It's a lot of details that you make a concern when it comes in installation of concrete. ARP Hardscape try to give you a little advice when you hire a contractor, especially in concrete.

You have to make sure that your concrete patio or your concrete driveway is below your foundation, below your vents from the house. Make sure they don't cover the vents. If you block the vents, it's causing moisture into your house and not a good installation.

And when we say concrete have to be below your foundation, it's in case a lot of raining coming, you don't want no water close to your foundation. You have to make sure they start the right drainage if it's needed, or always the slope has to be away from the house. Make sure it goes to your yard, make sure it goes to the street, and not to your house because it can damage your foundation.

Also, make sure your concrete is never against wood. Wood siding, wood trim. In any situations that they wanna put the concrete against wood, make sure they use metal flashing so that water never touch the wood.
