ROHNERT PARK — Host, Sarah Rutan: Your home has filters for improving air quality, but did you know your car does as well? Today we’re in Rohnert Park with Diamond Certified Expert Contributor Will Trbovich of Acurit Auto Repair to learn more.
Will Trbovich: Hi. So, most people are aware that they have furnace filters in their homes that keeps the air relatively clear. Not always aware that in their car, you have a very similar situation. You have what’s called a cabin filter, which filters the air inside your car that you’re actually breathing as you’re driving. This is a cabin filter that was recently replaced.
So, cabin filters aren’t always mentioned when you bring your car in for service. It’s something that you need to be aware of because it’s the air that you’re breathing. In addition, there’s a filter that filters your engine – like, for – gives you maximum performance in your engine. If your filter in your engine is dirty, then your engine is not going to breathe properly, and you’re going to burn more gasoline. So, ask about the cabin filter. Ask about the engine filters when you take your cars in for service.
