My name is Steve Sprat. I'm the president of HPS Palo Alto Inc. and Los Altos. We go by the trade name of Home Preservation Services. HPS Palo Alto provides long-term preventive maintenance programs for people who want to be in their house, live in their house, enjoy their home, but not be burdened by the ongoing maintenance and repair work that is required of it to maintain its value. We provide preventive-type maintenance services, so we actually come to the house four times a year with a checklist. Each visit is scheduled around seasonal needs of the home - may be heating system service, gutter roof cleaning services, adjusting hardware, tactile items. It's not an easy thing to do to keep track of all these parts and all these different homes. We have developed systems that do that. Computerized databases, information about the house - those things all contribute to making this system work. You need to have a relationship with whoever is going to be doing this. We're going to be in your home, we're going to be taking care of things in your intimate environment. You have to know that we're going to do a good job and we're trustworthy, so there is a relationship that needs to be built. We tend to be for people who already take good care of their stuff. I've tried to con con - it seems to be a value system that you're either born with or raised with or you're not, and I have never been able to convince somebody who does not believe in the value of taking care of their stuff to change their mind. I've never been able to do that, but what I can do is appeal to people who do know that that's valuable but don't have time to do it themselves. There we can be of real service.
