We keep people safe by making sure that our crew and our salespeople that come out to the home are safe because they're following all the protocols with gloves, masks, and disinfectants. So, when we show up to your home, there’s very little chance of anyone infecting anyone in the home. We also put plastic drop cloths whenever possible. We ask the people to not be there while we're working, and if they do have to be there, that's fine. Just minimal contact, but we're always covered, and we always feel like we're taking good care of them while we're there. Training – we're constantly training. We just had someone in today to talk about our sealant and foam that we use around the windows. We're always updating that. The other thing is systems, having systems in place so that, you know, while each house is not cookie-cutter, the systems are there in place to make sure that we're doing everything that we can to do it correctly and not miss anything. So, having those systems in place keeps our quality at the highest level. Is the contractor insured? Do they have liability insurance, workers’ comp? As far as the product goes, are they offering more than one product? If they're offering just one product, it may be good for your home, but maybe not. They may just be trying to force the only thing that they have onto you. Another important thing is whether the crew – the people actually doing the installation – are they employees or are they subcontractors? So, it's a subtle difference, but our company has employees, and we have more control over someone than if they’re a subcontractor. They may decide not to show up one day and had a better job somewhere else, so that’s important. Recently, I was up to see a client that we did all the windows in their house a couple of years ago, and we were going back to do a couple of patio doors. While I was up there, they showed me where the recent fires were, you know, at their fence line basically. The whole neighborhood was inundated by smoke and ash. But they were saying that, relative to some of their neighbors, their house had almost no smoke and ash inside. Actually, it was coming through the patio doors that we were going to replace, but their windows kept the smoke and ash out. It probably saved them, you know, tens of thousands of dollars or more in cleanup. It was really nice to hear that and be rewarded. The fact that our – something we don't really sell the windows about – was keeping smoke and ash out of your house. But, you know, if that’s not getting in, then, you know, unwanted air is not coming in there as well. The thing I like most is the people I work with and my customers. I get to go out to see the clients I do. Once the job is sold, I go out and do the final measuring. I get to go out to see people in their home. I ask them, you know, why they chose us, and it’s just very rewarding. They’re surprised to see the owner coming out to do the measuring. It’s really rewarding to be able to go out and spend time with our clients. Helpful expertise means we're going to do the right thing for the client. We're not going to sell them something they don’t need or force something down their throat. We're going to go and talk to them, listen to them, find out what they need, and do whatever we can to help them get what they need. We may not have what they need, but more times than not, we do. But we're not going to just try to sell something that’s not going to be a good fit for them. So, it’s really – it’s just who we are. We’re just going to make sure they’re getting the right thing at the right price and installed professionally. My longest employee is Miguel, and he's been with me 23 years now. So, we go way back together, and he’s just as much a part of whose savior energy is as I am. He’s the one who makes the job work, and when the rubber hits the road, he's there doing the installs. He’s just a delightful human being – very humble, hard-working, just a wonderful guy. As a matter of fact, I was able to go to his hometown in Mexico. I was visiting another place and he said, "I’m going to be there," so we went to visit his hometown. It was great. He just showed me around. It was a very small little town. He was thrilled to have his boss there. I was thrilled to be there. It was just a win-win, and it just made me appreciate him even more. Plus, he owns a house here and he owns a house there in Mexico. So, it’s been a good experience for him. He's doing very well. We live in a beautiful Bay Area with so much outdoors. I love to go out to, you know, we’re in the Headlands, Point Reyes – go hiking, with or without my dog. Usually, I can’t take my dog with me on the national forest, but it's just great to be here. It’s one of the reasons why I like to live where we do – to take advantage of that and go out and hike in the woods or hike on the beach. For me, I like to just stop for a moment, and I call it taking a moment. You just, you know, try not to think too much and just kind of meditate for a moment. You could just feel yourself being a part of everything, and it’s very restorative. You know, I couldn’t keep doing what I do without taking those breaks to nourish myself and recharge the batteries.
