Since 1959, Springs Construction has partnered with homeowners to provide residential remodeling services across the Bay Area. From building new homes to remodeling kitchens and bathrooms, Springs Construction strives to be the “go-to” contractor for clients who want top-quality finished products.
The company offers a full range of construction services with a team of project managers who will handle as much of the construction process as clients wish, from pre-construction service and construction to “turnkey” job completion. “We love complex building processes, from the challenges that retest our skills to the joy we see in our clients’ faces as they begin to enjoy their finished homes,” says President Jim Adkins. “We’re with our clients every step of the way."
Springs Construction’s methodology for building is the same regardless of the size of the project: proper planning, talented trade professionals, and great methodology and follow-up. The company’s management team is led by a team of professionals, each chosen for their field expertise and to match the client’s needs.
“From the idea to completion, every detail counts to make a home flawless. Our customer-focused, proactive approach to construction ensures we stay on time and within budget. We are building and remodeling homes for our clients to be proud of and enjoy for a lifetime.”
Design your new home, remodel or addition with accessibility and convenience in mind. If you’re planning to redesign or remodel your home, don’t overlook changes that will increase functionality and ease of living throughout the house. Even if you don’t have any major remodeling projects in mind, a few simple additions or alterations can pay big dividends by making daily chores much easier and adding value to your home if you decide to sell it later. Consider the following tips:
• Replace doorknobs with lever-style handles. Install “D-style” handles or pull hardware on cabinetry for ease of use and a finished look. While in the planning stages of a remodel, increase door widths to accommodate future lifestyle needs.
• Replacing carpeting with hard surface flooring will dramatically reduce indoor dirt and simplify cleaning, making it easier for people of all ages to maneuver.
• Reorganize shelves and pantries so the heaviest and most commonly used items are within easy reach. You can also install slide-out shelves in kitchen cabinets and pantries to improve access and increase storage.
• When replacing kitchen appliances, consider those that require less reaching and bending. Some refrigerator models come with a freezer on the side or bottom rather than the top, which makes it easier to handle heavy frozen items. Several manufacturers make refrigerators, freezers and dishwashers that slide out like drawers, which makes loading and unloading much easier. Always look for Energy Star rated appliances.
• When considering an addition for a two story remodel, stacked closets framed properly can easily accommodate a future residential elevator.
• For bathroom remodels, replace an enclosed vanity with a pedestal sink to enhance leg room. If you currently have a bathtub/shower combination but rarely use the tub, consider installing a walk-in shower with hand shower and thermostatic temperature controls. New countertop and flooring products can add color and drama with the added advantage of ease of maintenance.
Few construction companies earn the prestigious Diamond Certified award, which means they've been independently rated Highest in Quality. Even fewer can claim more than 50 years of industry experience, but that's exactly the case for Springs Construction. Designer Elizabeth Springs says those five decades of experience give the company's employees an intuitive understanding of the detailed scope of each project. "Every time we present an estimate or start a job, we know what it will cost, how long it will take and what challenges we'll have to face. Our experience makes the process go very smoothly."
Springs Construction provides complete residential construction services for clients throughout the Bay Area, including new home construction, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, additions and fire restorations. The family-owned and operated company also maintains an in-house design studio, which allows its interior designers and construction managers to collaborate and deliver projects as quickly as possible.
Unlike construction firms that offer limited services or only take on certain types of jobs, Springs Construction's services cover every step of the building and remodeling process, from pre-construction consulting to project completion. Ms. Springs says this approach allows the company to improve speed, manage projects more efficiently and support construction managers with in-house designers, which ultimately results in better outcomes. "Even when we're working with a client's architect, having our designers on staff to support the homeowner during construction expedites the process and results in the homeowner getting exactly what they want."
Another distinguishing characteristic of Springs Construction is its dedication to quality control. The company's staff firmly believes that in order to deliver projects for the lowest possible prices, all work must be performed correctly from the very beginning. "Our field supervisors continually check each project to ensure everything goes according to plan," says Ms. Springs. "We never leave a job until we're absolutely positive it's been completed correctly."
