Even if you don’t have any major remodeling projects in mind, a few simple additions or alterations can pay big dividends by making daily chores much easier and adding value to your home if you decide to sell it later. Consider the following tips:
• Replace doorknobs with lever-style handles. Install “D-style” handles or pull hardware on cabinetry for ease of use and a finished look. While in the planning stages of a remodel, increase door widths to accommodate future lifestyle needs.
• Replacing carpeting with hard surface flooring will dramatically reduce indoor dirt and simplify cleaning, making it easier for people of all ages to maneuver.
