Fortunately, this is easy to do—just follow this basic procedure: </p> <ol> <li>Brush off loose dirt. </li> <li>Apply a solution of 1/4 cup of dishwashing liquid to 1 gallon of water. </li> <li>Use a soft bristle brush to gently scrub the fabric. </li> <li>Allow the solution to sit and soak into the fabric. </li> <li>Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue. </li> <li>Air dry. </li> </ol> <p>While this basic procedure will take care of bird droppings and other mild stains, in the case of heavy stains like tree sap, use the following procedure:</p> <ol> <li>Apply cornstarch to the stained area, which will act as an absorbent. </li> <li>Use a straight edge to scrape off the excess. </li> <li>Finish using the above cleaning procedure. </li> </ol> <p>In all cases, use caution when scrubbing your fabric product, as the color can be rubbed off. Also, it’s best to avoid brushing the stitching; since it sits on top of the fabric, over-vigorous scrubbing could cause it to break. </p> <p><a href="https://www.diamondcertified.org/" target="_self">Use Diamond Certified Resource to find top rated companies.</a></p> <p><strong>Local, Top Rated Diamond Certified Companies Related to Your Topic<br></strong><a href="https://www.diamondcertified.org/sonoma-awnings/" target="_self">Sonoma County Awning Companies</a><br><a href="https://www.diamondcertified.org/alameda-awnings/" target="_self">Alameda County Awning Companies</a><br><a href="https://www.diamondcertified.org/solano-county-awnings/" target="_self">Solano County Awning Companies</a><br><a href="https://www.diamondcertified.org/san-francisco-awnings/" target="_self">San Francisco Awning Companies</a><br><a href="https://www.diamondcertified.org/contra-costa-awnings/" target="_self">Contra Costa County Awning Companies</a> </p> <p><strong>Related Articles</strong><br><a href="https://www.diamondcertified.org/Guide/Awnings/" target="_self">The Homeowner's Guide to Awnings</a><br><a href="https://www.diamondcertified.org/find-expert-advice/" target="_self">Get Expert Advice From Owners of Top Rated Local Companies</a><br><a href="https://www.diamondcertified.org/membership/" target="_self">Become a Diamond Certified Preferred Member (Always Free)</a> </p>
