One aspect of kitchen remodeling that’s sometimes overlooked is the backsplash. While it may seem insignificant compared to more expensive aspects like cabinetry and countertops, a backsplash provides a great opportunity to get creative with design, and it can even be the visual centerpiece that ties the entire kitchen together.

While some homeowners choose to install a uniform surface for their backsplash (such as granite slab), tile is a much more versatile option in terms of design. Working with an array of materials, a tile contractor can create a custom backsplash design that introduces texture and complements the kitchen’s various colors. From a more traditional tile pattern to a one-of-a-kind mosaic, the options for a tile backsplash are practically limitless.

Another advantage of using tile for your kitchen backsplash is the variety of tile products you can choose from. Since a backsplash doesn’t receive as much wear and tear as a floor or shower, you don’t have to use the most durable products, which opens your options and allows you to get more creative with design.
