Oz Pesach: Aiming High
By Matt Solis, Editor
Oz Pesach immediately knew he had found his professional calling when he started working in the roofing industry in 2015, so instead of resting on his laurels, he decided to push himself as far as he could go. “I knew roofing was where I wanted to be, so I just kept chasing after the best practices so I could get better every day,” he remembers. “After gaining years of experience, I took the leap and launched Epic Roof Replacement in 2020.”
Today, Oz says interacting with customers is the most rewarding part of his job. “A roof replacement is a big project that addresses a lot of issues, so I know exactly what my clients are going through. I love being able to lift that stress off of their shoulders and give them something they can feel good about.”
Although he splits his time between Los Angeles and the Bay Area, Oz considers San Leandro home. “I love the Bay Area because it’s such a melting pot of cultures,” he says. “You can experience so many different types of food, people and traditions all in one place.”
Outside of work, Oz likes to stay active by golfing, hiking and playing tennis, but he’s also keen to spend his downtime enjoying the tranquility of the East Bay with his wife, Victoria. “Even though we live in big cities, we both love peaceful settings,” he details. “My perfect day would be an afternoon at a winery, just relaxing and enjoying the moment.”
In terms of a personal or professional philosophy, Oz espouses the importance of aiming high. “Henry Ford said, ‘Quality means doing it right when no one is looking,’ and I truly believe in that,” he offers. “I also think you shouldn’t be afraid of making a mistake. After all, you can’t learn anything from being perfect.”
When asked what his life might look like if he could retire tomorrow, Oz says he’d take the opportunity to hit the open road. “I would buy a big RV and just drive across the United States and North America. I don’t think a lifetime is even enough to see everything, but I would certainly try.”
