Omer Hoshmand: Achievement Unlocked

Omer Hoshmand never expected to spend his career in the locksmith industry, but as soon as he got a taste for the work, it quickly became a passion. “I started working for a locksmith company in Santa Clara in 2016 and basically learned everything on the job,” he says. “Within a year, I realized I could bring a better approach to customer service than the company I worked for. I knew I could handle the technical challenges, so it was just about finding a different way of working. A year later, 24/7 Locksmith Solutions was born.”
Today, Omer says his favorite aspect of his job is still the problem-solving aspects of locksmithing. “I love getting to a jobsite, facing a challenge and solving it like a puzzle. When people call me, they’re usually in a pretty stressful situation, so it’s very fulfilling when I’m able to help them.”
A resident of El Sobrante since 2016, Omer says his favorite part about life in the East Bay is the natural beauty of his surroundings. “I love that El Sobrante is unincorporated. We can do things like raise chickens, keep goats and ride horses, so it feels more open and natural.”
Outside of work, Omer dedicates most of his free time to his wife and two young children, but he also makes time for a few personal hobbies. “I like playing soccer and taking road trips, so I guess you’d say I’m an outdoorsy person,” he details. “But when I get home from work, my favorite way to relax is to cook food for my family.”
When it comes to a personal or professional philosophy, Omer believes in treating others with the same respect that he hopes to receive. “I’ve always liked the phrase, ‘Live and let live,’” he offers. “I meet a lot of different people with different viewpoints every day, so I’ve learned to see things from all sides. I think people should just focus on their own lives and not judge others.”
When asked what his life might look like if he retired tomorrow, Omer says he already has a dream destination in mind. “I would fly to Maui. I went there for my birthday a few years ago and it was unforgettable, so I’d love to go back.”

A: Manchester United.
Q: Are you a dog person or a cat person?
A: A dog person. I have a German Shorthaired Pointer.

A: A dachshund named Kipi.

A: Lolinda in San Francisco.
Q: If you could immediately travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A: Japan. I would love to experience their food, scenery and culture.
