Adrian Garcia: Making a Splash
By Matt Solis, Editor
Adrian Garcia’s entry into the swimming pool business may have been unexpected, but it wasn’t long before he realized it was the perfect fit. “In 2004, I became friends with a gentleman who was cleaning pools for a living, and I was interested in joining him, so we partnered up,” he remembers. “We started small with about 15 clients, but we eventually grew and started installing things like pumps and heaters. Now, we handle everything from cleaning and maintenance to building brand-new pools.”
Today, as owner of Elite Custom Pools Inc, Adrian says his favorite part of his job is making clients happy with the results of his hard work. “I like talking to our customers, listening to their needs and coming up with solutions that leave them completely satisfied. It’s very rewarding when we’re able to take an old, dilapidated pool and convert it into something beautiful and modern-looking.”
A lifelong resident of the Bay Area, Adrian currently lives in San Jose with his wife, Martha, and their two children. Outside of work, he likes taking advantage of everything that life in the South Bay has to offer. “I love the weather and people in San Jose—it has a great atmosphere,” he says. “We’re an outgoing family, so we enjoy going to theme parks and doing other fun activities in the area.” Adrian also makes time to engage in his two favorite personal hobbies: exercising and mariachi singing.
When asked what his life might look like if he retired tomorrow, Adrian says he would utilize that free time to travel with his family. “I would grab my kids and visit different parts of the world. I think it would be a lot of fun to spend time in places that we don’t know anything about.”
