Video: Sewer Line Replacement

First, I want to start by talking to our customers about the differences now in nowadays technology when it comes to sewer line replacement. And this is specific to the replacement when you're replacing your entire sewer from your home to the city main connection. There are several methods. One of the most common methods is the trenchless method, but I wanted to go a little bit in depth into that, that trenchless method is not always the best method to do it for a couple of very clear reasons.

Number one, we always encourage you to never, ever, ever do a sewer line replacement without permits. Because this truly protects the longevity and the quality of the work. When you're doing the trenchless replacement, what is not being told oftentimes by inexperienced technicians is that the trenchless method Cracks open your existing pipe and it takes its same place and shape and the form. So in other words, if you have roots in your existing pipe, sure, trenchless will be perfect. However, if you have bellies and uneven or not very well sloped areas in your existing pipe, then trenchless method is not going to fix those. And as a matter of fact, the only way you can fix an uneven or belly areas, it's a technical term, is by open trench approach. Open trench method. naturally involves opening the actual section of the pipe that is lacking the slope.

And so this area will have to be manually opened to access that specific fault area of the pipe and manually with the new installation bring it back to correct level and correct slope. And then the rest of the pipe that does not have the specific issue still trenchless method. So this is called a combination method between trenchless And an open trench.
