Video: Preventing Water Damage From Washing Machine Hoses

Larry Williams: Okay, the question of the day. How old are your washing machine hoses? Most people don’t think about the washing machine hoses, but they have rubber hoses behind the washing machine. These washing machine hoses are only good for five years. But if you have the braided hose, they’re good for fifteen years. Imagine you get the rubber hose, you get a boot inside that hose, you go out to dinner, that hose bursts, your house is putting out 65 PSI of pressure at any given time. When that hose bursts, you’re going to get 65 PSI of pressure going into your garage. You’re at dinner, when you come back, you can go swimming inside your garage by the time you get back. If you have the braided hose good for fifteen years, you wouldn’t have that problem.
