Video: Maintaining Your Air Filters

CONCORD — Eric Schaefer: Indoor air quality or IAQ has taken on new importance lately, whether it’s seasonal pollens or danders, wildfire, ash, and smoke, or, and bacteria and viruses, filtering these materials out of the air and out of the equipment, that’s moving the air through our house is important to know about and to maintain throughout the year. Some common types of filters or indoor air quality devices that you may have in your home would be the typical washable, micro filter, or some degree of replaceable paper filter, or our personal favorites that we incorporate in our electrification projects and electronic air cleaner of some sort.

Whatever type you have, you should know where they’re located and how many you have as there may be more than one and be aware of them, service them, change them regularly. We recommend a minimum of every 60 days for the replaceable types. Washable types, you want to make sure that they’re completely dry before reinstalling them and an electronic type should have an instruction manual possibly available online through video. If you have any questions about these, any type or upgrading to any of these types, you can call us anytime or call your local professional.
