What I'd like to address is torsion springs, and one of the doors that's most popular now is sectional doors, so in sections that roll up overhead. And those are counterbalanced with torsion springs, and those are the springs that run across the top of the door. So the most common call we get is people say that they can't get the door open and they have a broken spring.
Springs are very important, and a torsion spring is kind of an interesting deal. It has to be the correct spring to the door. You don't just stretch it further if it's heavier. It's not that way. They also are pretty dangerous. we don't tell people they can't work on them, but we don't talk people into working on them. It's probably best to have someone that does that for a living That's a professional. It's not something that you can get in a hardware store. The olden days of an extension spring on a one piece door are long gone.
