Two Ways to Clean Your Storm Drains

CONCORD — When it comes to preparing for a major storm, one of the most important steps is cleaning out your storm drains. Storm drains are susceptible to being stopped up by debris, which can result in flooding on your property. Here are two ways to clean your storm drains:

Cabling
The simplest option for cleaning storm drains is to run a cable through them to clear out the debris inside. The only problem is that storm drains aren’t piped the same way as other drains, so there’s no guarantee that cabling will do a thorough job.

Hydro jetting
Hydro jetting is a method for clearing drains that utilizes high-pressured water (2,000 PSI) to force out inner debris and buildup. This is the most effective way to ensure your storm drains are completely clear of debris.
