When it comes to upgrading your pool area, there are three key elements that will help you create a safer, more visually appealing environment.
1. Coping
Coping is crucial because it includes an expansion joint that serves as a protective edge or cap for your pool’s walls. It helps maintain the structural integrity of the pool by providing a buffer that prevents water from seeping behind or beneath the pool shell, which reduces the risk of erosion and potential damage to the pool’s structure. Coping is typically installed in 12x24 slabs, but it comes in a variety of materials, styles and finishes, so you can customize the look to match your pool’s aesthetic.
2. Natural stone
Natural stone is an excellent material to use in the areas around your pool because it remains cool even when it’s directly exposed to sunlight, which reduces the risk of burn injuries.
3. Non-slip tiles
Non-slip tiles are essential for safety because they decrease the likelihood of slipping near the pool’s waterline. You can also add trim to the tiles to enhance the overall look of your pool area.
