George, a former construction inspector and his daughter Tessie, who has a communications engineering background, form the backbone of the operation. Mr. Squires and his crew (many of whom have worked together for more than 15 years) are a tight team who know how to play up each other’s strengths. They are one of few companies that will not use nail guns, which can apply too much force and mar or split wood.

While most construction companies do very little to educate their clients, Squires Lumber & Fence provides an informative bid package that explains exactly what the customer is about to purchase. They are also happy to work with groups of neighbors who share property lines and need to be invoiced separately for fencing costs.
