The O'Connell Plumbing Team "HIghly Recommended By My Mother"

O’Connell Plumbing’s logo and service mark, “Highly Recommended By My Mother”, was created as a kind of lark by Ed O’Connell and his mom, Elsie, over 25 years ago—and it stuck! It is now one of the more recognizable trademarks around Marin County and has come to symbolize not only a good company but one that is pleasant and enjoyable to work with. Ed’s mom wanted her son to think of the folks he did business with as neighbors (because she recommended so many of ’em)—not numbers, and he’s followed this philosophy ever since.

Born in San Francisco, Ed grew up in Marin from age two, was educated here, and worked his way through college as a plumber. He’s a long-time native (Fairfax Native Sons) and so is very aware of the unique characteristics of Marin and its citizens. He cares about this county.

Ed’s partner, Rebecca, started with the company about 15 years ago and is the actual President. She comes from a professional and business background and her caring influence is easily seen by how customers are so well treated. She’s especially aware of women’s concerns when they call for service. (Ed is especially aware of how much better a business person Rebecca is than he’ll ever be.)
