Established
in 1981 with one room, F. Joseph Smith’s Massage Therapy Center
now offers six massage rooms, two outdoor hot tubs and a sauna.
Owner F. Joseph Smith has been a masseur since 1974, a massage instructor
since 1977, and has developed his own form of advanced bodywork
he calls Smithing. He was one of the co-founders of the Massage
Program at North American College of Health Sciences, the first
thousand-hour massage therapy course approved by the American Massage
Therapy Association in Northern California.
Creating a space where people can feel relaxed and pampered, the
Center offers therapists who are proficient in all modes and techniques
of massage and bodywork, including Swedish massage, lymphatic massage,
accupressure, shiatsu, prenatal massage, sports therapy, and cranio-sacral
therapy. Massages are guaranteed to be relaxing and satisfying.
Each of the Center’s two hot tubs is shaded by redwood trees,
enclosed by ivy-covered walls and surrounded by a small deck. The
hot tubs as well as the indoor wet or dry cedar sauna are available
for softening your muscles before a massage or for simply relaxing
any time.
COMPANY
PHILOSOPHY
“Every therapist provides an excellent massage that’s
both relaxing and satisfying. I believe that a simple, ‘thank
you,’ is the nicest thing anyone can say as long as it’s
sincere, so we’re careful to thank each client after a massage.”
